Bryan Russell served twenty-two (22) years as a Texas Peace Officer before retiring in 2018 (Bryan Police Department 1996-2018).

Bryan started his law enforcement career in 1995 and attended the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Academy in Conroe, Texas. Bryan graduated Sam Houston State University in 1996 with a Criminal Justice Degree.

Bryan was hired by the Bryan Police Department in 1996. Bryan was a patrol officer for his first 4 years and then was a detective for 2 years. Bryan joined the Tactical Response Team in 2000. While on the team for 10 years Bryan served as an entry member, sniper, assistant team leader and team leader (2000-2010). Bryan promoted to sergeant in 2003 and was assigned as a supervisor on night shift. He also ran the K9 program for 2 years as a sergeant on patrol.  

In 2008 Bryan became sergeant over the Crimes Against Person’s Unit at the Bryan PD Criminal Investigations Division. Bryan supervised detectives and handled case management while assigned to CID (2008-2014).

In 2014 Bryan became the Training Sergeant for Bryan PD and was instrumental in developing their Police Academy (2014-2018).

After retiring from Bryan PD in 2018 Bryan became a training coordinator for a College Police Academy in Texas. Bryan is responsible for scheduling and instructing at the Police Academy. Bryan’s passion is training and he enjoys instructing law enforcement officers.
