Cryptocurrency crimes continue to evolve as more and more criminals utilize bitcoin and altcoins to carry out their illicit activities. These crimes range from trafficking activities on the dark web to fraudulent activity and scams on regulated cryptocurrency exchanges. There has also been a tremendous uptick in cryptocurrency being laundered by street gangs and drug trafficking organizations,
This training course is designed to prepare class participants to conduct covert operations involving cryptocurrency. The instructor will provide in-depth information on techniques to properly set up cryptocurrency wallets for covert operations as well as backstopping the wallet addresses. For major investigations, an exchange account will be needed to facilitate the conversions of cryptocurrency to fiat and vice versa. Detailed information will be provided on proper procedures for establishing covert exchange accounts.
The training course will progress to conducting undercover cryptocurrency transactions. There are various considerations that will be presented to properly prepare for these covert operations. Target address monitoring and rapid transactions are key components to ensure opportunities are not missed.
Class participants will be provided with Windows-based tablets and a demo account with Crypto Track Pro Analytical Tool. This will be used for the in-depth practical exercises focusing on establishing covert accounts, conducting practice transactions in class, and tracking the transactions.
