Course Overview:

The current heroin threat is being magnified by the use and abuse of fentanyl. Fentanyl is quickly becoming one of the most dangerous and challenging drug-related threats to communities and law enforcement officers across the United States. 

This training course will focus on breaking down both heroin and fentanyl as well as the latest trends in packaging and distribution. An emphasis will be placed on how to collect, process, and preserve heroin and fentanyl evidence while minimizing an exposure. An emphasis will be placed on how to prevent accidental exposure and possible overdose. 

Officers will be presented with information to learn how to recognize the symptoms and respond to an officer overdose. Detailed information and techniques to put a policy and training in place at the student home agency will be discussed.
