David Roach joined the Dallas Police Department in 2007, working primarily in proactive enforcement units before becoming a Narcotics Detective in 2012. Since 2012, he has been assigned to the Narcotics Division, working various levels of narcotics investigations, including street-level investigations, mid-level narcotics investigations, clandestine laboratory investigations, fentanyl overdose investigations, violent street gangs, trans-national drug trafficking organizations, and working in an undercover capacity in narcotics and homicide investigations.  

Since 2016, David has been assigned as a Federal Task Force Officer for the United States Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) where he has been the lead Case Agents on dozens of complex conspiracy cases targeting domestic and transnational drug trafficking organizations, resulting in the seizures of thousands of kilograms of narcotics and the Federal prosecution of hundreds of offenders. 

Throughout David’s career, he utilized a variety of investigative methods, including undercover operations, confidential sources, interview and interrogation techniques, visual surveillance methods, electronic surveillance methods, advanced surveillance photography, financial analysis’, non-conventional search warrants (ie: anticipatory and surreptitious), , domestic controlled delivery operations, international controlled delivery operations, Attorney General Exempted Operations (AGEO) money laundering operations, provisional arrest warrants (PAW), cellular telephone exploitation, social media exploitation, telephonic toll analysis, and wire taps,.

During his time as an active Task Force Officer, David has conducted numerous investigations targeting transnational drug trafficking organizations, including Mexico-based Cartels such as the Sinaloa Cartel, Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG), La Familia Michoacana (LFM), and Cartel de Noreste (CDN). 

Additionally, David has conducted multiple domestic investigations targeting criminal organizations responsible for large scale narcotics distribution/trafficking organizations and violent crimes, which has resulted in the prosecutions of hundred of offenders for offenses ranging from drug trafficking to firearms offenses to homicide. David has also successfully investigated opioid overdose investigations which successfully dismantled criminal organizations, including street dealers up to importers and manufacturers.
