Melissa Louden began her law enforcement career with the Chicago Police Department in 2002. During her twenty-one years with Chicago PD, she worked Patrol in a high crime area for 7 years.

In 2009, Melissa joined Vice Control Section, working on the V.R.R.T, Licensing, Prostitution and Human Trafficking teams. During her tenure there she was instrumental in the success of a high-profile prostitution/human trafficking case, “Little Girl Lost”, on a joint task force, while obtaining her ministerial license.

For three years, Melissa worked as a Background Investigator in Human resources. During her time there, she recruited, investigated, and mentored new hires.

Lastly in 2019 until retirement, Melissa became an instructor with the Office of Constitutional Policing and Reform’s Training Academy where she acquired several certifications and certificates in Leadership and from the Emergency Management Institute (FEMA).

Melissa completed four years of study at Mundelein College and looks forward to earning her BA, during her retirement years. 

Additionally, a current member of CAWLE, Che Chicago Association of Women in Law Enforcement, which is devoted to providing a positive platform for sworn, retired and civilian women in law enforcement to network, invoke conversation about progress, goals, achievements, and providing mentorship and educational services while celebrating the history of women in law enforcement.
